Bundesliga club warn Barcelona over move for Euro 2024 hero

Barcelona look to be trying their best to bring in Dani Olmo, with Nico Williams’ future seemingly lying in Bilbao this coming season.

The 26-year-old is willing to join the Catalan side, but they will not be allowed to sign him on their terms.

RB Leipzig Sporting Director Rouven Schroder has stated once that he was willing to hold onto Olmo if there were no satisfactory offers. Now, he has told BILD (via MD) that if Olmo is to leave, everyone will have to get what they want out of the deal.

“If we don’t reach an agreement with a club, then the player will stay with us. And if there is something suitable, we will weigh it up. But one thing is also clear: there cannot be one winner [from the deal].”

RB Leipzig are still not willing to accept the new offer from Barcelona for Dani Olmo. Leipzig are not happy with the new numbers presented. They demand at least €60m, fair to achieve + add-ons. Olmo wants to join Barcelona over all other options. @Plettigoal

EURO 2024 sensation’s release clause revealed as Chelsea, Liverpool, others linked

Dani Olmo’s £50million RB Leipzig release clause is expected to be triggered before it expires next Monday.

The 26-year-old attacking midfielder has lit up Euro 2024 for Spain, scoring three goals and registering two assists to help La Roja reach Sunday’s final in Berlin – where they will meet either England or the Netherlands.

Olmo netted what proved to be the winner in Munich on Tuesday night as Spain defeated France 2-1 in the semi-finals as the three-time winners earned another shot at glory.

According to the Mirror, there are clubs from both the Premier League and Spain loitering ahead of the deadline following a series of background discussions over the past few months.

While Chelsea appreciate the player and are understood to have held talks with Olmo’s representatives, sources close to the Blues say they are not pursuing a deal while Liverpool are also unlikely to move for the forward, contrary to reports in Spain.

No player has scored more goals than Olmo at the European Championships and Leipzig are prepared to drive a hard bargain if clubs show interest beyond his release clause deadline.

In that case, they will demand between £60m and £70m – highlighting that any team that wants to sign the former Dinamo Zagreb man must move quickly.

He recently said of his future during an interview with Mundo Deportivo: “I am calm and focused on what is coming, which is the Euro, which is no small thing. It is clear that it is good to see your name related to great teams in Europe and the world, that motivates me, but I am focused on the Euro and I hope we can return with the trophy.

“Then we’ll see. It’s nice to see your name related to the greats, but I insist, it’s nothing that bothers me. I am focused on the field and then whatever has to be, will be.”
