(Watch Video) Lautaro Martinez cancels out Vlahovic goal as Juventus, Inter clash ends in stalemate

November 27th, 2023 by Olasunkanmi Ibikunle

Lautaro Martinez replied to the Dusan Vlahovic opener, as the top of the table showdown between Juventus and Inter ends in a stalemate.

Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martinez headers were into the arms of Wojciech Szczesny, while Federico Chiesa fired over from a promising position after a long throw-in.

Hakan Calhanoglu let loose with a long-range scorcher that flashed just wide, but Juventus broke the deadlock with sheer determination from Vlahovic.

The Serbian robbed Denzel Dumfries in midfield and sent Chiesa down the left, making the run ready to meet the return pass first time with the inside of the right boot into the far bottom corner.

However, Inter were back on track when playing out from defence, as Thuram burst down the right and rolled across where Lautaro Martinez anticipated Federico Gatti at the near post for a delicate angled finish.

Thuram should’ve done better after the restart when scuffing straight at Szczesny after a smart Nicolò Barella back-heel flick and Henrikh Mkhitaryan pull-back from the by-line.

Juan Cuadrado came on against his former club to loud jeers and insulting chants, but it was overall a much scrappier second half with long periods of Inter possession and very little to show for it.

Ultimately, the result leaves the Scudetto race open and allows Milan and Napoli the chance to close in on the leading pair.

Arsenal back for move for Chelsea, Manchester United targets

November 10th, 2023 by Olasunkanmi Ibikunle

Arsenal are weighing up moves for Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Juventus’s Dusan Vlahovic should their move for Brentford striker Ivan Toney fall through, Ekrem Konur reports.

The Gunners will likely have to thin out their squad in order to launch a bid for Toney, who could command a £100m transfer fee.

Arsenal would face competition from Chelsea and Manchester United for Osimhen’s signature, while Vlahovic will be a cheaper option and suits the age profile of Mikel Arteta’s young squad.

Juventus set to make Lukaku-Vlahovic swap deal U-turn

August 5th, 2023 by Olasunkanmi Ibikunle

Juventus director Cristiano Giuntoli has reportedly delayed his trip to London because they are in a position of power compared to Chelsea in the valuation of Dusan Vlahovic and Romelu Lukaku.

Giuntoli had been due to fly out this week and it was not just to talk with Chelsea about the potential exchange deal between the two strikers.

It was also to discuss Timothy Castagne with Leicester City and possible Premier League interest in Federico Chiesa.

However, Calciomercato.com via Football Italia claim it is a power play for Giuntoli to remain in Italy for the time being.

Juventus are prepared to hand over Vlahovic in exchange for Lukaku and €35-40m, but so far Chelsea are only willing to add €20m to the Belgian.

As the talks drag on, the Bianconeri are increasingly wary at how unpopular this move would be with their fans, but also at the difficult situation that Chelsea are in with Lukaku.

If the swap deal were to collapse, Juve would be more than happy to keep hold of Vlahovic, whereas being stuck with Lukaku would be a problem for Chelsea.

At last! Chelsea set to accept Vlahovic-Lukaku swap deal with Juventus

July 31st, 2023 by Olasunkanmi Ibikunle

Chelsea are now more open to discussing a potential exchange between Romelu Lukaku and Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, according to Sky Sport Italia.

This had already been proposed to the Stamford Bridge side several months ago and they were holding out for at least €40m cash instead.

That position would appear to have changed with the collapse of the talks with Inter and Lukaku’s on-going refusal to even talk to the emissaries from Saudi Arabia.

Juve coach Max Allegri has his heart set on Lukaku to lead the line this season and it is no secret his rapport with Vlahovic is not particularly good.

The Serbian is increasingly frustrated by the rather negative tactics proposed by Allegri, while the club is irritated at Vlahovic’s on-going fitness issues.

It would naturally be a matter of Chelsea handing over Lukaku plus a large sum of cash, because Vlahovic is valued at a minimum of €75-80m.

That is because Juve paid €81.6m plus bonuses to sign the 23-year-old from Fiorentina in January 2022.

Paris Saint-Germain fans threaten Chelsea target

July 18th, 2023 by Olasunkanmi Ibikunle

PSG ultras have unveiled a threatening banner warning Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic that they will cut his fingers off if he moves to Paris.

The banner was unveiled in front of PSG’s stadium on Sunday. It read: ‘Vlahovic we’ll cut your three fingers off in Paris.’

As explained by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the threatening message of PSG ultras has a political meaning given that Vlahovic had posed with a shirt featuring an image of ‘greater Serbia’, which includes Kosovo.

It’s the same meaning as the three-finger salute that Vlahovic made in the same picture years ago.

PSG are said to be strongly interested in the Serbia international, with Juventus open to listening to offers from €80m.

Once the Bianconeri sell Vlahovic, they’ll pounce on Romelu Lukaku, who won’t return to Inter.

(Watch Goal on Video) Chelsea target Dusan Vlahovic scores in pre-season friendly

July 15th, 2023 by Olasunkanmi Ibikunle

Dusan Vlahovic and Samuel Iling-Junior were both on the scoresheet for Juventus as the Bianconeri players took part in an internal friendly in pre-season training on Saturday morning.

Two sides made up of Juve’s first team squad, one wearing white and black and the other in white and pink, played out a 45-minute friendly at the club’s training ground in front of a selection of supporters, eventually finishing 1-1.

Juventus President Gianluca Ferrero was also in attendance, as was Giovanni Manna, deputy to new director Cristiano Giuntoli.

Vlahovic, who has been heavily linked with a move away from Turin in recent days, opened the scoring with a venomous effort from just inside the area, before Iling-Junior levelled the scores shortly afterwards.

David Levy makes Chelsea prime target Tottenham’s No.1 choice

July 14th, 2023 by Olasunkanmi Ibikunle

Tottenham have now made Chelsea target Dusan Vlahovic their No.1 choice to replace Harry Kane this summer, according to Foot Mercato.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Cristiano Giuntoli, Director of Football at Juventus, has flown into London for talks with Chelsea about the Serbia international.

However, the 51-year-old may also have a chat with Tottenham while he’s in London, as Spurs appear to be huge admirers of Vlahovic.

Foot Mercato believe the north Londoners have maintained an interest in the 23-year-old throughout recent years, and have now made him their top target in the event that Kane leaves.

The French news outlet add that PSG and Bayern Munich are pushing hard to sign the England international, and it is telling that Spurs are preparing themselves for his exit by earmarking Vlahovic as his replacement.

Foot Mercato add that Tottenham and Juventus hold a strong relationship, having previously negotiated successful deals which saw Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski move to N17.

While it certainly sounds like Tottenham are in a good position to sign Vlahovic from Juventus, Ange Postecoglou won’t make a move unless Kane does actually leave.

A transfer of that magnitude will surely drag on, as Spurs expect to receive over £100m for their talisman.

Therefore, Chelsea have some time to decide whether or not to make a serious push for Vlahovic.

The Blues are, however, hamstrung by their inability to sell Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan – Gazzetta dello Sport believe Chelsea hope to offload the Belgian before signing a new striker.

(Watch Video) Revealed: What Juventus fans told Dusan Vlahovic about his Chelsea move on Monday

July 11th, 2023 by Olasunkanmi Ibikunle

Juventus fans warmly welcomed Dusan Vlahovic on the first day of the pre-season, begging him not to leave this summer.

The Serbia international is said to be one of Chelsea’s targets to replace Romelu Lukaku, who is wanted by Juventus and Inter but has given his absolute priority to the Nerazzurri.

Vlahovic joined his Juventus teammates for the first day of pre-season in Turin on Monday and received a warm welcome from the fans.

The ex-Fiorentina forward stopped to sign autographs before and after his routine checks at the J Medical and fans begged him to remain in Turin in 2023-24, shouting ‘one of us’ and ‘don’t leave.’

Vlahovic is under contract until June 2026, but the Bianconeri are ready to listen to offers from €80-90m.

Juventus tell Chelsea Dusan Vlahovic price despite interest in Romelu Lukaku

July 9th, 2023 by Olasunkanmi Ibikunle

Chelsea have reportedly been told they will need to pay £64.8million in order to sign Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus this summer.

The player is open to leaving Italy and has reportedly been offered around to Premier League clubs.

Reports during the weekend claim Juventus are also in talks to sign Romelu Lukaku at the same time.

The Old Lady indicated that they are open to listening to offers for Dusan Vlahovic, but they will not entertain just any fee for the Serbian striker, according to juvefc.com.

Vlahovic has attracted interest from several top clubs in Europe, and Juventus’ absence from the upcoming Champions League season increases the possibility of them considering his sale.

While Vlahovic appears to be open to whatever decision the club makes, with clubs like Chelsea and Bayern Munich expressing interest in the former Fiorentina player, Juventus still hopes to retain their key asset.

However, if any club wishes to sign Vlahovic, Tuttojuve reports that Juventus would initiate negotiations starting at a fee of €70 million. Offers below that threshold are unlikely to capture the attention of the Old Lady.

A source close to the club reveals that: “DV9 would fetch us good money, but we need him in our rebuild. While it seems sensible to sell the ex-La Viola man, replacing him will be a big issue.

“There is no striker at his age with his potential that will cost less than the amount we will make from his departure.

“If we sell the Serbian, we might regret it, so if he does not ask to be sold, the club must do its best to keep him in the team for as long as possible.”

Dusan Vlahovic: Swap deal on the cards as Juventus boss Allegri requests for Lukaku after Chelsea snub Inter offer

July 9th, 2023 by Olasunkanmi Ibikunle

Reports in Italy claim Max Allegri would like to bring Romelu Lukaku to Juventus , potentially with Dusan Vlahovic heading to Chelsea, but the Belgian has his heart set on Inter.

The 23-year-old Serbian striker struggled to show his best under Allegri last season, netting just 10 goals in 27 Serie A appearances.

Vlahovic is expected at Continassa on Monday to meet with with new director Cristiano Giuntoli to discuss his true intentions for the future.

Meanwhile, rumours in England, according to Football Italia, had pushed Juve into the race for Lukaku, especially as Chelsea believe they could provide a higher bid than Inter and get closer to the €45m asking price.

Italian sources had until now been entirely confident Juve were not even in the running, nor particularly interested in the idea of signing Lukaku.

That seems to be changing, as Gazzetta dello Sport and Sportitalia Juventus correspondent Giovanni Albanese now suggests coach Allegri requested Lukaku as a potential reinforcement in his meeting Giuntoli.

He also states that Vlahovic can leave for the right offer, and Chelsea are one of the clubs interested in a possible swap deal.

However, that all fails to take into account that Lukaku already rejected a more lucrative proposal from Saudi Arabia and has said before he would ‘never’ go to Inter’s arch-rivals Juventus.
