Chelsea have received a timely boost in their plans to offload Christian Pulisic as Lyon have joined the race to sign the USA international.

AC Milan were thought to be favourites to sign the 24-year-old after agreeing personal terms with the American.

But Lyon have entered the running with a £21.5m bid for the ex-Borussia Dortmund attacker, according to The Athletic.

Meanwhile, latest reports claim that Pulisic has TURNED DOWN an opportunity to join Lyon this summer, preferring instead a move to AC Milan.

According to ESPN, “Pulisic does not see Lyon as the right move, instead wanting to remain playing Champions League football, which Milan can offer.”

It still represents a massive hit on the £58m fee they paid to sign him four years ago. But Pulisic has only 11 months left to run on his deal and Chelsea are keen to cash in.

Chelsea are considering a potential move for Lyon wonderkid Rayan Cherki – and the 19-year-old is certainly living up to the hype with his performances for France Under-21s.

The young Frenchman enjoyed a breakout season for Lyon last term, scoring five goals and providing a further six assists for the French outfit.

According to Simon Phillips on Substack, the Blues are considering an approach for Cherki this summer.
