Chelsea legend Marcel Desailly has urged Mauricio Pochettino to reunite with Neymar.
The Blues boss reportedly has no interest in joining up with the Brazilian, despite the fact he could be attainable this summer for just £60million.
Desailly feels that the Paris Saint-Germain outcast could change Chelsea’s fortunes if Pochettino is prepared to compromise.
“Pochettino doesn’t yet have that individual player who can make the difference for his team, that established player like Mbappe,” the Frenchman told BoyleSports.
“I think Chelsea should move for Neymar. I believe he is still part of the six or seven best in the world, but there has to be a real desire from the coach to have him.
“To be able to express himself, he needs to be in a system where he is the playmaker and the leader, behind two strikers or on the left with some freedom.”
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola called Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar to enquire about his intentions with his future in doubt ahead of the summer transfer window.
The forward’s season was curtailed by injury and he has frustrated PSG with some of his behaviour, such as attending the Monaco Grand Prix while his team-mates celebrated winning Ligue 1.
Guardiola is keen to know exactly what the Brazil international is thinking ahead of the summer transfer window and called up for a chat, according to L’Equipe.
The report, though, adds that the 31-year-old is unlikely to move to the Etihad, despite the Spanish tactician’s recent interest in his wellbeing.
Neymar and his stunning model Wag have announced they are expecting their first child together.
The PSG superstar, 31, was tagged in a post that Bruna Biancardi shared on Instagram telling the world their happy news.
Alongside five sweet snaps, translated from Portuguese, 28-year-old Biancardi wrote: “We dream of your life, we plan your arrival and knowing that you are here to complete our love makes our days much happier.
“You will arrive in a beautiful family, with your brother, grandparents, uncles and aunties who already love you very much!
“Come soon son/daughter, we are waiting for you!”
The photos show Neymar holding his Bruna’s stomach as they kiss, before they have a laugh as the Brazilian star cradles his partner’s head.
Neymar is also seen kissing Bruna’s stomach, posing with her on a couch before putting his ear to her tummy and sticking his tongue out.
Many of Neymar’s team-mates past and present posted their congratulations on the photo set, including Tottenham striker and fellow Brazilian Richarlison and PSG midfielder Marco Verratti.
It will be Neymar’s first child with Bruna.
Neymar also has an 11-year-old son, named Davi Lucca. The PSG star had his first child with former girlfriend Carolina Dantas at the age of just 19.
Bruna is a social media personality and model from Sao Paulo, who owns her own clothing brand.
The pair are thought to have started dating in 2021, but kept their relationship quiet for a few months.
They eventually became official in January 2022, letting fans know that they were engaged on Instagram.
But they ultimately broke up in the summer that year, with the the model rubbishing rumours of Neymar cheating on her.
Bruna posted: “Don’t believe everything that happens out there.
“I am very fond of him [Neymar] and his whole family. Please stop involving my name. Thank you.”
However, the pair spent the Brazil international’s 31st birthday together in February and shared some intimate photos on social media.
And this latest piece of new confirms they are very much back together.
Neymar previously dated stunning Brazilian actress Bruna Marquezine for six years, before breaking up in 2018.
Neymar was stretchered off in tears after appearing to sustain a nasty ankle injury while playing for PSG a Ligue 1 clash with Lille.
The Brazilian was stretchered off in the 51st minute, and is now a huge doubt to feature in his side’s Champions League second leg against Bayern Munich.
Things had been going swimmingly for PSG, who had led 2-0 through brilliant goals by Kylian Mbappe and Neymar.
But things began to go wrong on 24 minutes, when Bafode Diakite pulled one back for Lille.
Disaster struck shortly after half-time, when Neymar landed awkwardly on the halfway line, twisting his ankle in the process.
He receive lengthy on-field treatment, with the stretcher being called.
Neymar initially tried to walk off himself, but after one step realised that he’d need the stretcher after all.
The tearful star eventually lay down and was carried off, being replaced by Hugo Ekitike.
Things went from bad to worse just five minutes later, when Lille were awarded a penalty for a soft handball.
Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro has explained how he speaks to Neymar ‘most days’ and would love his fellow Brazilian in the Spanish capital.
The former Santos forwad has continually been linked with a return to Spain since his departure with Barcelona and Los Blancos said to be keen on a future transfer.
However, despite a prolonged saga of multiple reports claiming that the clubs were in negotiations and a deal was on the verge of completion, no move has yet to materialise, report Football Espana.
“Me and Neymar talk more days, and I would love to have him here at Real Madrid,” Casemiro explained to Onda Cero.
“Both of them (Neymar and Kylian Mbappe) are two explosive players and totally different.
Casemiro also heaped praise on current Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane: “It is an honour to have Zidane in the locker room. He knows how to speak very well with the players and for us he is the best thing that can happen is to have him as a Coach.
“Our success is down to luck? That is ridiculous, we work very hard and prepare for every game and outcome.”
