Borussia Dortmund join Chelsea, Arsenal, others in race to sign free-scoring star

Borussia Dortmund are confident of securing a deal for VfB Stuttgart forward Serhou Guirassy, despite interest from other clubs in Europe, according to Florian Plettenberg.

The 28-year-old notched 30 goals across all competitions last season, including 28 in the Bundesliga.

Whilst Dortmund’s domestic rivals Bayern Munich are understood to be out of the race, it is reported that Arsenal, AC Milan and Chelsea are all showing interest.

Arsenal, Chelsea battle Manchester United for 30-goal striker

Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea are reportedly in a fierce four-club race with AC Milan for Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy this summer.

Guirassy enjoyed a prolific season in front of goal after joining Stuttgart on a permanent basis 12 months ago, netting 30 times in 30 appearances to help the club finish second in the Bundesliga table behind Xabi Alonso’s undefeated Bayer Leverkusen.

Only England captain Harry Kane bettered Guirassy’s tally in Europe’s top five leagues last season and the 28-year-old’s goalscoring exploits have put him firmly on the radar of the Premier League’s elite clubs.

According to German outlet Bild, Arsenal and Chelsea are in the the race for Guirassy’s signature – as they search for attacking reinforcements – along with AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund, with the publication branding the forward a player ‘in demand’.

BILD claim that Guirassy could be available for as low as £15m despite scoring 30 goals in as many games last season.

The striker is expected to leave Stuttgart, and the Premier League could be his destination.
