Tammy Abraham opens up on why he left Chelsea to join Jose Mourinho at AS Roma

Roma star Tammy Abraham has revealed the reason why he decided to leave Chelsea for the Italian shores.

The Englishman said he had the desire to explore a new league and ingratiate himself into a new culture which, in turn, proved pivotal in his move to the eternal city.

In an interview with Pro:Direct Soccer on Youtube, the 24-year-old opened up on his Chelsea exit.

He said: “I got to the point that I needed to leave and explore.

“All I knew was Chelsea. It’s nice to explore, learn a different culture, and a different language. It’s different, but I am enjoying it.”

For the striker, enjoying life away from the constant scrutiny inherent in any discussion about Premier League players was needed to rediscover his style and build his confidence.

Abraham has, thus far, claimed 20 G/A’s in just under 2000 minute of league and cup football this season. As Chelsea’s attack is still yet to find a consistent run of form, the sale of Tammy Abraham looks even more questionable.
