Tammy Abraham reveals how two Chelsea stars convinced to join AS Roma

Tammy Abraham has revealed how Chelsea players Antonio Rudiger and Emerson Palmieri influenced his move to AS Roma.

The striker ended a 17-year association with Chelsea by joining the Serie A club on a permanent basis on Tuesday.

The 23-year-old stated that Rudiger was instrumental in convincing him to join the Italian giants.

“They ( Antonio Rudiger and Emerson Palmieri) loved everything, especially Toni Rudiger, he told me he would always play for Roma again,” Abraham told Roma’s website when asked what Emerson and Rudiger told him about the club.

“Hearing it gave me confidence. As I said, I felt good from day one, I just have to do my best this season and help the team as much as possible.”

And Abraham also revealed that former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, who is now the manager of Roma, also played a big part in him moving to the Stadio Olimpico.

“Luckily I trained a couple of times with him, I’ve never played with him in the first team. I know what he’s about, I know he’s a big character around the building”, Abraham said.

“He has won major trophies and had the experience of working with the best players in the world, so for me to work under him is something that makes me very happy, I can’t wait to get started”.
