Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel, yet to experience a match in charge in front of the Blues faithful, poked his head out his car to join in the celebrations upon leaving the ground.

The German wrote his name in the history books as just the third manager, after Roberto Di Matteo and Avram Grant, to guide Chelsea to a Champions League final.

And while 2012’s run possessed more drama, last night’s Blues performance was full of control and poise.

Boss Tuchel was serenaded, with fans cheering his name as he appeared from the back seat of his vehicle to raise a fist and huge smile.
