Wayne Rooney complains about Jose Mourinho dismissal six days before Carabao Cup Final against Man City

Derby manager Wayne Rooney, who was Manchester United captain during Jose Mourinho’s tenure at Old Trafford, claims Tottenham took a major risk letting him go just six days before the Carabao Cup Final against Manchester City.

Rooney also described Mourinho as a “fantastic” manager and one of the few that can properly prepare a team for a match against City.

The United legend said: “He is a fantastic manager.

“If there is one manager to set a team up to play against Manchester City in a cup final, it is Jose Mourinho. It is a massive risk.

“I am sure a lot of teams around the world would love to have him”
