Andreas Christensen undergoes Barcelona medical today

Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen is undergoing the second phase of his Barcelona medical today, reports claim.

According to The Sun, he is set to pen a five-year deal with the LaLiga giants after turning down a new contract at Chelsea.

Christensen, 25, is claimed to have passed the first phase of his medical last week.

And according to Spanish paper Sport, he will undergo part two this afternoon.

They add that his agent will arrive in Barcelona between now and Thursday to formally complete the agreement.

Christensen’s talks with Chelsea broke down earlier this season, opening the door for Barca to swoop.

Bayern Munich had also been courting the Dane’s signature, but Xavi and Co have won the race after upping their offer last week.

Premier League teams were also interested, although Christensen reportedly snubbed them out of respect for Chelsea.

Christensen is understood to have agreed a deal worth around £95,000-a-week with Barcelona.

The centre-back has made 153 appearances for the Blues, including 26 this season in all competitions.

Barcelona are hoping to spend big on Erling Haaland this summer to play up front next term – while looking for bargains and free transfers to improve the rest of their side.

Christensen could be joined in Catalonia by team-mate Cesar Azpilicueta, who is also being linked with a free transfer to Barca.

While AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie is also expected to join up in the summer.
