Barcelona to make offer for Portugal international

Reports in Spain claim Barcelona are willing to offer €25m for Borussia Dortmund’s defence ace Raphael Guerreiro.

The Catalan giants have been on the lookout for a left-back for some time, with Jordi Alba needing a competent backup, but have been looking at more experienced players like Atletico Madrid’s Filipe Luis until now.

David Alaba was the first choice and almost joined Barça last year but the cost of the deal was too high.

According to SPORT, Guerreiro, 25, only has a year left on his contract so Barcelona could get a cheap deal for the Portugal international.

The report adds that Barça tried to sign him back in 2016 but he opted for Dortmund because he didn’t feel he would play enough at the Camp Nou. Instead, they signed Lucas Digne. Guerreiro has improved at Dortmund and can even play further forward in midfield.
