Blues fans have thronged twitter to put pressure on Chelsea hierarchy to ensure Ross Barkley returns to Stamford Bridge after his loan spell at Aston Villa following his rich vein of form after the midfielder scored a last-minute goal against Leicester to help his team maintain their 100 percent start in the Premier League.
The midfielder, who is on a season-long loan from Chelsea, scored the second goal of his loan spell in his second game for Aston Villa.
The game at the King Power Stadium looked to be heading for a goalless draw, but Barkley stepped up and struck a late winner for Villa, firing home in the 90th minute to give Smith’s side a fourth straight win in the Premier League this season.
His goal proved to be the difference between the two sides at Leicester, with Villa extending their 100% record at the beginning of the new season, with Barkley and Villa following up their stunning 7-2 win against Premier League champions Liverpool with another win.
For Barkley, it was his second goal in as many games, having also scored against Liverpool at Villa Park prior to the international break.
And his goal has prompted a reaction from Chelsea fans on social media.
