Chelsea fans react to reports on Blues £130m agreement with Real Madrid on Eden Hazard switch

Chelsea fans have been reacting to reports that the Stamford Bridge club have reached an agreement with Real Madrid over Eden Hazard’s move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Belgium star is on the brink of completing his switch to Real in a move that would bring the curtain down on seven trophy laden years at Stamford Bridge.

The 28-year-old has won two Premier League titles, an FA Cup, a League Cup and two Europa League titles at Stamford Bridge.

And for Chelsea fans, there was a feeling of sadness at seeing their star man depart, report the Daily Mail.

‘Sad day for CFC fans as Eden Hazard, the most talented player ever to play for our club leaves,’ one Chelsea fan wrote on Twitter.

‘He left as a legend and every Chelsea fan wants him to win the Ballon D’or at Madrid which he WILL. Let the new Era begin,’

But despite the terms of the deal having the potential to soar well over £100m and Hazard only having a year remaining on his Chelsea contract, some fans believe the club may have been short-changed.

‘Every price is a bargain when it comes to signing Hazard,’ another fan wrote on Twitter. ‘He’s definitely bringing star power back to Real Madrid.’

Another referred to Tottenham’s £100m asking price for wantaway play-maker Christian Eriksen who, like Hazard, has a year remaining on his Tottenham contract.

‘When there’s talk of Eriksen going for 100mill plus, 88mill for Hazard in todays (sic) market is an absolute bargain,’ one fan said.

But other Chelsea supporters felt the board did a good job to extract such a fee from Madrid.

‘Naturally gutted but to get up to £130million for Hazard who could have left for free in 7 months is incredible work from the Chelsea board.’
