Crystal Palace hunt for Frank Lampard’s key player to replace Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Crystal Palace are reportedly targetting Chelsea starlet Reece James to replace Aaron Wan-Bissaka who joined Manchester United this summer.

Full-back Wan-Bissaka was sold to Manchester United after a protracted transfer negotiation which saw the two clubs come to an agreement over a £45million initial fee, with an extra £5m lined up in add-ons.

Roy Hodgson side are, according to The Sun, willing to wait for James — their first choice to replace Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

James, 19, is back at Chelsea after a loan at Wigan and will not go out again until the Blues hear from Fifa about their transfer ban.

The right-back is expected to be fit by late August after picking up an ankle injury with England Under-20s.

Palace would take him on loan or full-time in one of the next two transfer windows.

James’ form at Wigan attracted interest from a number of Premier League clubs, with Brighton challenging Palace for his signature.
