Fastest Premier League player REVEALED as Manchester City star loses crown

Reports in England have revealed the fastest player in the Premier League this season, and his identity is someone you would least expect.

Manchester United defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah endured a miserable loan spell at Fulham, but he at least has something to show for his time in west London.

According to the Daily Mail, the 21-year-old hit a top speed in 2018-19 that just eclipsed Manchester City’s Kyle Walker, despite making only 12 appearances.

The Dutch international reached 35.32 km/h, ahead of Walker’s 35.27 km/h.

Another unlikely name completes the podium places, with Wolves’ Ruben Vinagre clocking in at 35.2 km/h.

Leroy Sane and DeAndre Yedlin make up the rest of the top five fastest players.

Gerard Deulofeu, Felipe Anderson, Divock Origi and Patrick van Aanholt are in the top 10 – and so too is Fulham goalkeeper Sergio Rico.

Rico has somehow recorded a faster pace this season than Mohamed Salah, who could not break past a top speed of 34.95 km/h.

Whether Fosu-Mensah’s speed-gun shattering time is enough to give him a future at Old Trafford remains to be seen.

He has spent the last two years on loan, and made 24 appearances for Crystal Palace last season.

He has not played for United since the 2016-17 campaign.
