Frank Lampard responds to Chelsea move for PSG’s goal merchant Edinson Cavani

Frank Lampard has not ruled out a move for Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani as Chelsea look to boost their squad this month.

The Ligue 1 giants’ striker has been linked with a move to the Premier League with Chelsea and Manchester United among the clubs rumoured to be interested in the 32-year-old.

And both clubs have been put on alert amid confirmation that Cavani has requested to leave the Ligue 1 giants this month, despite his contract expiring at the end of the season.

“He’s a great player; I played against him and always loved his mentality and attitude, and his scoring record speaks for itself,” said Lampard.

“I’m not absolutely aware of what the situation is, so we’ll see.

“The idea of bringing in experience is something I’m certainly not absolutely looking away from, because sometimes the young players need a little bit of help, and if that’s the case then that may help us.”
