Atletico Madrid star Luis Suarez says Chelsea ace Thiago Silva is the toughest defender that he’s come up against in his distinguished career.

The striker has come up against the world’s elite during that time but Suarez says Chelsea centre-back Silva is the hardest opponent he’s come across.

“A defender that has given me trouble and that I have faced several times was Thiago Silva,” said Suarez. “He is an admirable defender who I have always liked.”

Silva joined Chelsea on an initial one-year deal last summer but the Brazilian is keen to stay at Stamford Bridge.
