OFFICIAL: Antonio Conte leaves Inter Milan just days after winning Serie A title

Antonio Conte has quit Inter Milan – just days after leading them to the Serie A title.

The former Chelsea boss had a huge row with the club’s president Steven Zhang and is unhappy at future plans.

Cash-strapped Inter may have been forced to sell stars to raise more than £80m this summer and slash the wage bill by 20 per cent.

And Conte, who had a year left on his deal, has quit the club and will receive around £5m in compensation.

A bombshell report in Gazzetta dello Sport on Tuesday night hinted at a divorce between the coach and the Nerazzurri due to expected cutbacks at the club.

It is said that Inter are looking to cut their wage bill by about 20 percent to remove €100m from their budget due to financial worries, with Conte against any such move and willing to walk out over the proposal.
