Club Brugge have officially completed the signing of striker David Okereke from Serie B side Spezia.
A statement on Club Brugge’s official website claims Okereke rejected ‘many offers’ to join them on a four-year contract.
The Belgian club have paid a reported €8m for the Nigerian who turns 21 next month.
He scored 10 goals and provided 12 assists in 30 Serie B games last season, which caught the eye of Sassuolo, report Football Italia.
He has big boots to fill as Aston Villa recently splashed out a club-record €25m to sign his predecessor Wesley.
Nonetheless, the move represents a big step-up for the Nigerian, who was only plying his trade in Serie D four years ago.
Okereke becomes the second player to leave Spezia today after Tommaso Augello, who signed for Sampdoria.
