Reports in Germany claim Real Madrid are set to beat Chelsea, Manchester United, others to Kai Havertz.

According to Bild, Real Madrid have offered Bayer Leverkusen €80m for Havertz with the understanding that the 20-year-old attacker would remain at the BayArena next season on loan.

The benefit of the bid are twofold: Madrid get their player before his value rises even higher, and Leverkusen receive a fortune to invest in a depressed player market.

Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Liverpool are equally keen to sign the attacking midfielder.

Meanwhile, the German champions reportedly are confident they can agree a deal for the midfielder in the next few weeks.
