The 20-year-old Nigerian has been one of the names linked with the Blues in January as they prepare to overhaul their attack.

La Liga stars all have fixed, publicly available buyout clauses in their contracts which would give clubs direct access to potential players if they meet the price.

As reported by Football Espana, Chukwueze recently signed a new deal with Villarreal that raised his release clause to £84.5m.

According to The Sun, Chelsea would clearly hope to negotiate a lower fee, but reassuringly for the Blues there is a ceiling price should they enter into a bidding war with rivals.
