Tammy Abraham gets Chelsea teammate Mateo Kovacic’s praise

Chelsea midfieder Mateo Kovacic has sung the praises of Tammy Abraham following his match-winning performance against Norwich that saw him open his Chelsea account.

In the Premier League match at Carrow Road last Saturday, the Blues ran away with all the three points at stake thanks to Abraham’s brace and Mason Mount’s goal.

Coincidentally, that was Chelsea’s first win in the new Premier League season having lost the first match to Manchester United 4-0, and playing a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge.

The 21-year-old emerged as the hero in the match against Norwich City, and consequently earning the accolades of his teammates and pundits.

The Croatian is sure that his new teammate “can only get better” throughout the season, and scoring for the Blues will allow him to kick on.

He said: “It comes naturally. Tammy is a great player with great movements. He is still young and he can improve a lot.

“I think the whole team is doing quite well in these first games. We have a good connection and I think we can only get better from now on.”

“I think he [Abraham] knows where he needs to go. As a striker, sometimes he needs to go long and sometimes he need come short. So he already knows what to do.

“I can’t teach him much because I am not a striker or a great goalscorer. I think Tammy is doing well and he will improve this year for sure.”
