Thomas Tuchel identifies area he wants to upgrade in Chelsea, admires Blues youngster

Thomas Tuchel has identified the centre of his defence as a key area for an upgrade, according to Bild.

The German’s arrival has therefore pushed the Blues to heighten their interest in the RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano.

And the Frenchman’s abilities in the heart of defence will be required to shore up Chelsea’s inconsistent defence.

Meanwhile, the Chelsea manager was already a big admirer of one Chelsea academy graduate before taking over at Stamford Bridge.

The Guardian claim the German sees vast potential in the Blues’ attack and is a fan of Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The report adds that Tuchel also believes he can work with Mateo Kovacic, Jorginho and N’Golo Kante in central midfield.
