(Watch Highlights) Bruno Fernandes nets brace as Cavani seals away victory for Manchester United (Match Report)

A double-blow inflicted by Bruno Fernandes inside seven first-half minutes ended Everton’s Goodison Park unbeaten record.

Bruno Fernandes scored twice and set up another goal as Manchester United came from behind to beat Everton 3-1 at Goodison Park.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side had claimed seven points from nine at home before this and won two cup games on their own ground, too.

And they looked to be responding to successive away losses exactly as manager Ancelotti would have ordered when Bernard, starting in the Premier League for the first time since 16 July, swished a low drive beyond David De Gea.

Fernandes scored with a header on 25 minutes, adding a second less authentically seven minutes later with a cross which drifted beyond its intended target in Rashford but reached the back of the net nonetheless.

Lucas Digne hit a post before Fernandes put United in front on 32 minutes with a centre that eluded Marcus Rashford but went in off the far post.

Ancelotti tweaked and finessed during the second half, altering his personnel and formation.

Everton pushed hard for an equaliser but Harry Maguire denied Dominic Calvert-Lewin before Abdoulaye Doucoure shot over.

Alex Iwobi did wonderfully well to volley a cross into the centre but Doucoure, straining to make contact, missed his kick.

Substitute Edinson Cavani sealed victory on the counter in stoppage time, sweeping home Fernandes’s pass.

A club-record-equalling seventh successive away Premier League win lifts United up to 13th on 10 points.

A third straight defeat leaves Everton fifth, with three points more.
