Argentina striker confirms Chelsea transfer interest, says “the fact that Chelsea is following me is a little moving”

Argentina youngster Matias Godoy has confirmed a transfer approach from Chelsea, saying he is flattered by Premier League giants’ interest.

Godoy plays for Argentinian second division team Atletico Rafaela, having made his debut for the first team when he was only 16 years old.

Inter Milan and AC Milan are equally following the exciting 17-year-old forward Godoy, whose impressive performances with the Argentinian Under-17 squad caught the attention of the Nerazzurri, according to Corriere dello Sport.

Reports in Italy add the west London outfit have made launched a bid in the region of £3m in a bid to steal a march on the Serie A giants.

However, the Milan clubs do have a slight advantage as they are able to sign players in January – something which the Blues are waiting to find out if they’ll be able to do.

Last week it was confirmed the club’s transfer ban appeal will be heard by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) at the court’s headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland, on Wednesday, November 20.

And it would appear that Godoy is pushing for a move to Stamford Bridge after confirming their interest when speaking to TYCSports recently.

“The fact that Chelsea is following me is a little moving and I take it in the best way possible but must continue to work,” he said.

“I am full of pride. Me and my family have made a very big sacrifice to get here.

“Already being in the National Team is a great pride for me.”
