Neymar faces two separate police investigations over rape allegation

Fresh reports in Brazil confirm that Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar is facing two separate police investigations in over rape allegation.

The Brazilian footballer is accused of of raping and assaulting a Brazilian model in a hotel room in Paris last month

According to the CNN quoting Rio de Janeiro’s Police press office, the investigation is being conducted by Sao Paulo police, where Najila Trindade filed a police report on May 31 claiming that the PSG player assaulted and raped her earlier that month.

The 26-year-old model is currently being questioned by police in relation to the alleged Paris incident in a closed setting.

Neymar has denied the accusations in an Instagram video, saying: “I was induced to do it, it was something that happened, it was a trap and I ended up falling for it, but that’s a lesson from here on out.”

His representatives have said he is the victim of extortion.

Neymar went to the Rio de Janeiro police headquarters on Thursday evening in an investigation.

The Brazilian football confederation reported earlier that Neymar had received a subpoena to speak with authorities about his posting on social media of images and messages of the woman without her authorisation in possible violation of her online privacy.

“I only want to thank the support and messages that everybody sent,” said the player, who was using crutches because of his injured right ankle.

A doctor gave a statement to Sao Paulo police on Thursday about a medical examination he gave the woman.

Chelsea fans react to reports on Blues £130m agreement with Real Madrid on Eden Hazard switch

Chelsea fans have been reacting to reports that the Stamford Bridge club have reached an agreement with Real Madrid over Eden Hazard’s move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Belgium star is on the brink of completing his switch to Real in a move that would bring the curtain down on seven trophy laden years at Stamford Bridge.

The 28-year-old has won two Premier League titles, an FA Cup, a League Cup and two Europa League titles at Stamford Bridge.

And for Chelsea fans, there was a feeling of sadness at seeing their star man depart, report the Daily Mail.

‘Sad day for CFC fans as Eden Hazard, the most talented player ever to play for our club leaves,’ one Chelsea fan wrote on Twitter.

‘He left as a legend and every Chelsea fan wants him to win the Ballon D’or at Madrid which he WILL. Let the new Era begin,’

But despite the terms of the deal having the potential to soar well over £100m and Hazard only having a year remaining on his Chelsea contract, some fans believe the club may have been short-changed.

‘Every price is a bargain when it comes to signing Hazard,’ another fan wrote on Twitter. ‘He’s definitely bringing star power back to Real Madrid.’

Another referred to Tottenham’s £100m asking price for wantaway play-maker Christian Eriksen who, like Hazard, has a year remaining on his Tottenham contract.

‘When there’s talk of Eriksen going for 100mill plus, 88mill for Hazard in todays (sic) market is an absolute bargain,’ one fan said.

But other Chelsea supporters felt the board did a good job to extract such a fee from Madrid.

‘Naturally gutted but to get up to £130million for Hazard who could have left for free in 7 months is incredible work from the Chelsea board.’

Holland national team manager reveals Manchester United, Barcelona prime target’s decision about his future

Holland manager Ronald Koeman has revealed Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt’s decision to keep his future destination secret.

The 19-year-old has been the captain of the Amsterdam-based club for over a year and has starred for club and country.

Widely regarded as one of the best upcoming talents in world football, the central defender is set to command a €70m fee from Ajax.

Barcelona, according to Football Espana, are among the frontrunners for the defender but Manchester United, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked.

“I have spoken with Matthijs a week ago about his future and it is secret,” Koeman explained, as cited by Diario Sport.

“What I say to young people who are thinking of taking a step is that the most important thing is to continue playing, to have minutes to develop their football, and where they play is also important, but that they must choose well with their family, his agent, the environment that surrounds him.

“He is only a 19-year-old and has to make a good decision, he must choose well where to play next season so that he is able to keep growing, it seems that he has the experience of someone who is 25.

“It was great news that he played in the Champions League and that he did it at the highest level, that makes him grow.

“He can improve because he is a great professional, he does extra work on his own. He can improve, of course, but he is already a great player and will be even better over the years.

“It is important for him to choose a great club because it deserves it.”
