(Watch Highlights) Tammy Abraham nets brace as Chelsea flatten West Ham

Tammy Abraham’s second-half brace and Thiago Silva’s early header secure victory over West Ham at Stamford Bridge.

Thiago Silva’s thumping header and a late Tammy Abraham double earned Chelsea a 3-0 home victory against West Ham United.

The Brazilian centre-back leapt unchallenged to give his side the lead on 10 minutes, meeting Mason Mount’s corner with a powerful header that gave Lukasz Fabianski no chance.

Timo Werner missed a good chance at the other end after Christian Pulisic set him up just before the break.

West Ham pushed hard in the second half but Abraham doubled Chelsea’s lead on 78 minutes when he flicked Werner’s scuffed shot into the net.

Abraham then pounced on a loose ball to sidefoot in the Blues’ third with 10 minutes left.

That made it the eighth time Chelsea have scored at least three goals in a Premier League match this season, and they nearly had a fourth when Werner struck the crossbar with two minutes left.

Manchester United legend identifies Chelsea’s version of Liverpool star Roberto Firmino

Chelsea have their very own version of Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino in Tammy Abraham, according to Gary Neville.

He said: “He’s got to get 12-15 goals. He’s not going to 25 goals, but the pressure will come on him when people say ‘Chelsea need a goalscorer’.

I know they’ve got Werner who will score from wide areas, but when the centre-forward isn’t scoring 15 goals, 20 goals a season, he’ll come under pressure.

“He’s got to get those goals early in the season. I think there’s a massive relief there on his face when doing that interview. I mean he could be the Firmino. You see Firmino at Liverpool who does sometimes get questioned a little bit for not getting enough goals.

“But I don’t think from anyone who knows football questions him and what he brings then the other two get more plaudits and score goals. But he does a lot of work for the team that obviously supports that.”

Chelsea’s summer transfer plans REVEALED, plot swoop for free-scoring Bundesliga star, to AXE seven players

Fresh reports have emerged over Chelsea’s plan to continue total overhaul of the team after acquiring the services of the likes of Timo Werner, Kai Havertz for about £220m.

The Blues have therefore lined up Erling Haaland and Declan Rice as signings but SEVEN players are set to be axed as part of their summer transfer plans with huge changes.

It could be a huge summer of transfer activity at Stamford Bridge, with Sky Sports claiming there is likely to be a massive overhaul of the squad.

Chelsea have set their sights on bringing Erling Haaland to the club but they will face massive competition for the star.

Borussia Dortmund striker Haaland is one of the most sought after players in Europe with the likes of Manchester City and Manchester United chasing him.

Haaland is currently out injured but the prolific finisher has already scored 17 goals in just 14 matches this season.

Rice has been heavily linked with Chelsea and the West Ham midfielder faced the Blues on Monday night in the Hammers’ 3-0 defeat.

The England midfielder is reportedly keen on a move across on London and a deal for him should be easier to complete than Haaland.

But Lampard will have to reduce his squad if these expensive signings are made and the Blues are set to axe up to seven players.

West Ham boss reacts to his club’s loss to Chelsea

David Moyes has declared that West Ham did not deserve the result they got at Stamford Bridge on Monday night.

The Blues coasted to victory over their London neighbours with goals from Thiago Siva and Tammy Abraham.

After the match, David Moyes said: “I didn’t think we deserved that, but obviously we conceded three goals, so it’s the correct score.

“I think we had chances as well, we had a lot of the ball.

“It was a big test and I thought for long spells we did well. But the truth is we didn’t do enough in the box.

“They’re a threat and have some power- we tried to prepare for it, but we got caught out early.

“You’re playing against a good team and you know it’s a tough game. It was difficult to not get anything in our favour tonight, that was unlucky.

“I thought there were a bundle of [decisions] that were wrong tonight.

“I thought it was a big test, while we haven’t got the result, we’ve shown that we can give big sides a game.”

Manchester United make shock move to beat Chelsea, Real Madrid to Bayern Munich star

Reports in England claim Manchester United are set to hijack Real Madrid and Chelsea’s move for Bayern Munich defender David Alaba.

Chelsea and Real Madrid were the front runners in the race to sign the versatile defender after contact talks between the 28-year-old and Bayern Munich collapsed, with the Bundesliga club saying that he is free to enter into a pre-contact agreement with any club outside Germany.

According to the Daily Express, the Old Trafford club have made former contact with the Austria international’s agent over signing the player when his contract expires next summer.

Alaba is wanted by Real Madrid as a long-term replacement for centre-back Sergio Ramos.

Liverpool decide on move to offload Mohamed Salah amid reports he’s not happy at Anfield

Liverpool have no plans to offload Egypt international forward Mohamed Salah, reports the Sun.

According to Salah’s former Egypt team-mate Mohamed Aboutrika, the player is unhappy at Anfield and the Premier League champions are considering selling him for economic reasons.

However, the red top says that is not true and the club and manager Jurgen Klopp are both happy with the 28-year-old, who has a contract on Merseyside until the summer of 2023 and is the current top scorer in the Premier League.

Emerson’s agent reveals reason Frank Lampard won’t allow defender to join Antonio Conte’s Inter in January

Emerson Palmieri’s Chelsea exit in January is unlikely as the player has a ‘good relationship’ with Frank Lampard, the agent of the Italy international claims.

The former Roma defender is being linked with a January move to Inter Milan as he’s only managed eight appearances across all competitions with Chelsea so far this season.

Emerson replaced Ben Chilwell during Chelsea home win over West Ham in a Premier League match last night.

Inter are reportedly monitoring the Brazilian defender with Italian passport but his agent denies he will leave the Blues in the upcoming transfer window.

“I don’t think he’ll leave in January,” Fernando Garcia told FcInter1908.it as cited by Football Italia.

“I do not know if there will be a chance for him to return to Italy. For now, there have been no contacts with Inter,” he added.

Antonio Conte knows Emerson well having coached him in London.

“They respect each other, but Emerson is on good terms with Lampard too,” Garcia concluded.

Lampard identifies player who gave Chelsea push in second half, explains why he chose Abraham ahead of Giroud

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has praised Mateo Kovacic for winning the ball for the Blues in the second half of the win over West Ham.

Speaking on Sky, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard says: “The game was hard.

“We started really well, but the period in the second half, we didn’t get much of the ball, but Kovacic got us more on the ball when he came on.

“It felt like West Ham could hurt us at any moment; it certainly wasn’t a vintage performance tonight, but it’s good to get a win after two defeats.

“This season is different to every other season., It’s hard at a club with expectations like we have.

“When you’re winning and unbeaten for a long time things move swimmingly and it’ smuch easier to manage- but I have to be the one that drives it.

“There was a bit of tension going into the game today, in a good way, which I was happy about., They showed some real grit tonight.”

When asked about why Abraham was chosen over Giroud, Lampard says: “The individual form would have been a tough call on Oli as he’s been playing well.

“The pair have different attributes; I just felt with West Ham, where they’re solid and well organised, that Tammy’s natural ability to run behind them would suit us and it did tonight.

“We judged it on the opposition to a degree and Tammy came up trumps, but it’s nothing on Oli as he always turns up and performs so well for us.”

Barcelona legend names Chelsea, Arsenal, others he wants to manage, reveals why he likes Premier League

Xavi has stated that he would like to manage Arsenal if the opportunity were to come along.

While the Barcelona legend, currently at Qatar’s Al Sadd, dreams of managing his former club, he praised the Premier League’s “atmosphere, packed stadiums”.

And he named the Gunners as one of five English clubs he’d be keen on if an offer came.

Xavi told Sky Sports: “Obviously if I had to choose, I would choose a big team, City or United, Chelsea, Arsenal or Tottenham.

“Also, [Jurgen] Klopp and [Mauricio] Pochettino and Unai Emery, many people who have gone there are doing an extraordinary job.”

Former Chelsea captain warns Thiago Silva

Former Chelsea captain Marcel Desailly warned veteran defender Thiago Silva, 36, about the threat an injury poses to him.

The Brazilian opened the scoring against West Ham with a bullet header at Stamford Bridge

Desailly told Goal: “I was scared about him coming at the beginning but mentally he was strong enough to handle his mistake against West Brom.

“He is a leader, a former captain in Paris, but in France they say he just fell short in the later rounds of the Champions League.

“Let’s see. He has fitted well in the system and performed but we have to hope he doesn’t get injured.

“At 36, as soon as you have an injury, it is difficult to overcome.”
