(Watch Goal) Half-Time Report: Real Madrid 1-0 Atletico Madrid… Casemiro’s goal makes difference

No stoppage time at the Alfredo di Stefano stadium as there were no interruptions throughout the Madrid derby.

Real Madrid are putting together an unusually dominant display which has seen them opening the score with Casemiro’s header after 15 minutes.

Real are dominating the tempo by pressing high up, passing the ball quickly and taking advantage of Karim Benzema’s runs.

Atletico Madrid, on the other hand, haven’t managed to stand out as they have failed to create any chances.

Atletico have to deal with all the open space between lines and players which allows Real to move the ball with ease.

Half-Time Report: Everton 1-0 Chelsea

Everton lead at the break courtesy of Gylfi Sigurdsson’s cooly converted penalty, while Chelsea have dominated.

The Toffees took the lead mid-way through the half in front of 2,000 supporters when Gylfi Sigurdsson slotted home a penalty after Dominic Calvert-Lewin was brought down by Edouard Mendy.

Chelsea have had the majority of the chances and hit the post through Reece James but it’s been a frustrating afternoon for Frank Lampard, Timo Werner and Co so far.

Jose Mourinho decorates his Tottenham office with pictures of his exploits at rivals Chelsea

Jose Mourinho has revealed his Tottenham office being decorated with photos of him celebrating success during his time at rivals Chelsea.

In his latest Instagram post, the Portugese gaffer was pictured standing in front of an array of colourful pictures taken across his trophy-laden career.

The photo above his tactics board was taken at the end of the 2004-05 season, which saw Chelsea romp to the league title and finish 12 points clear of second-placed Arsenal.

Mourinho was snapped alongside his two children, Matilde and Zuca, both of whom had medals draped around their neck.

That infamous campaign marked Mourinho’s arrival in England, soon after his Champions League triumph with Porto, and was preceded by his memorable ‘Special One’ comment.

Also adorned in the background are key moments from his time at Real Madrid, Manchester United and current club Spurs.

Positioned next to the heartwarming photo of Mourinho with his children is a shot of the 57-year-old kissing the Europa League trophy in 2017.

He coached the team to the triumph during his first year at Old Trafford after beating Ajax 2-0 in Stockholm.

A snap of his Real Madrid players throwing him into the air is also present in the Instagram post, as well as one of his typically exuberant touchline celebrations in north London.

Claudio Ranieri reveals his effort to bring Maradona back to Napoli, says “we spoke to him twice when we were in pre-season training”

Former Chelsea manager Claudio Ranieri reveals he tried to bring Diego Maradona back to Napoli in 1991, “but he had already decided to retire.”

The Stadio San Paolo was officially renamed the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona this week and it will be the first Serie A game to be played at this venue.

“I think it’s a wonderful gesture. As well as being a world champion, Maradona was the soul of Napoli in a way, giving the whole population life in football terms,” Ranieri told the official Sampdoria website as cited by Football Italia.

“The first year I went to Napoli as a coach, Ciro Ferrara and I tried to convince Maradona to return, We spoke to him twice when we were in pre-season training, but he had already decided to retire. It was very disappointing, because I would’ve loved to coach a player like him.”

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says he’s got rid of troublemakers from Manchester United

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says he has got rid of the Manchester United troublemakers — and Paul Pogba was not one of them.

Solskjaer revealed he managed stars in his two years at Old Trafford who refused to train and play but refused to name any.

Pogba, 27, and his agent have been agitating to force a transfer — but Solskjaer says the Frenchman has never refused to play or train.

Solskjaer said: “This is a team game and Paul is part of this team.

“He’s very focused on contributing. He’s got the hunger and appetite to play and wants to play.

“He wants to train and he trains.

“There’s been other players refusing to train and refusing to play — they’re not here anymore of course — but Paul’s not once done that.

“He’s just focused on performing when he gets a chance.

“That’s the good thing about Paul. He’s got the quality and the desire to do well.”

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard responds to reports linking his club with January move for highly-rated Chelsea starlet

Steven Gerrard has distanced Rangers from reports linking them with a January move for Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour.

The 19-year-old, who played the full 90 minutes during Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Krasnodar on Tuesday, started his career at Rangers before moving to Stamford Bridge in 2017 for an initial fee believed to be in the region of £500,000.

“There’s always a lot of paper talk, there’s always a lot of speculation about a lot of players,” Gerrard said.

“From what I see from afar, I think Billy Gilmour is pretty settled at Chelsea. He has obviously had an injury. Every time I listen to Frank (Lampard) he’s really happy with the player.

“He’s a fabulous little player but there’s been no contact between the clubs or the managers. I know Frank extremely well, I know his coaching staff extremely well, I think that’s just people putting two and two together and looking for stories.

“There’s nothing in it from our side, but what I will say is he is a fabulous little player and we wish him well.”
